Allah ta’ala says in Suratun Nisaa, in two seemingly balanced ayaat:
Those who obey Allah and His Messenger will be admitted to Gardens with rivers flowing beneath, to abide therein (for ever) and that will be the supreme achievement.

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood radi Allahu anhu said: It will never harm a person that his soul does not desire more than the Qur’an, for if he loves the Qur’an; then he loves Allah and His Prophet sal Allahu alayhi [...]

Allah ta’ala discusses both Hell-Fire and Jannah equally in the Qur’an, displaying the balance of this deen. The two wings of a believer are fear and hope, and just as a bird cannot fly without balanced wings, the believer cannot either. InshaAllah we will be following this example for our Jannah and Naar series; posting [...]

Allah ta’ala says in surah Dhaariyaat:
“By the Sky, full of paths!” (51:7)
Allah ta’ala swears an oath concerning the sky, and what it contains.
الْحُبُكِ- is from ha-ba-kaaf (ح ب ك) and there are a few opinions on this word.
Firstly, it is said to be plural of hibaak (حباك), which is used for pathways between [...]

walhamdulillah,
Allah ta’ala says in the first ayah of Surah Qaaf,
“Qaaf. By the Qur’an that is Majeed” (50:1)
Majeed is from the root meem-jeem-daal (م ج د), majd. Majeed means: dhul majd: one that has majd. Majd is complete ‘athamah (sovereignty) and sultaan (authority). From the root, it is said: majdatul ibl, “the camel [...]

Allah ta’ala says in suratul Anbiya ayah 105,
And We have already written in the Zaboor (Psalms) after the [previous] mention that the land is inherited by My righteous servants. (21:105)
What is “al-ardh, the land” referring too in this verse?

The subtleties in the Qur’an are simply amazing. One letter can show such emphasis, empower a statement and send a powerful message to the listeners.
An example of this is in Suratul Waaqi’ah, Allah ta’ala says:
Tell Me! The water [...]

For all the college students out there, we know that being broke is normal. But I’m here to tell the rest of you that you are all broke too. Every. Last. One of you.
You may be thinking: “I just graduated, I make an awesome salary, I just bought this brand new 09 car, and I’m [...]

walhamdulillah,
The next characteristic of the Qur’an is Mubeen.
“Al Kitaabil Mubeen” appears many times in the Qur’an at the beginning of surahs after the huroof muqatt’aat (disjointed letters).
Alif-laam-ra. These are the ayaat of the “Mubeen” Book. (12:1)
Alif-laam-ra. These are the ayaat of the [...]

Aqsaam (oaths) in the Qur’an are a very fascinating subject that we should study and focus on more. As mentioned before, there are a few components needed for a qasm to occur. One of them is the harf qasm, a letter that shows there is an oath being taken.
There are a few letters in the [...]
