Assalam Alaikum

JazakAllah Khairan for sharing.

I have come across another explanation online regarding this topic.

The alternative explanation, which is different from the one given by brother Nouman Ali Khan, is as follows:

------------------------------------------------------------------
Prophet Shu’ayb alayhi salaam was sent to two different groups at different times, he was first sent to Ahl- Madyan who were his own tribal people, hence the verse :

وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَارْجُوا الْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
To the Madyan (people) (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. Then he said: "O my people! serve Allah, and fear the Last Day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief."

Then after their destruction, as they didn’t listen to prophet Shu’ayb alayhi salaam, the prophet was sent to another city. The people of this city were from a different tribe; they were not his family. That’s why the brother was not mentioned with As77abu Alayka (wood)

كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers .Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?

Source: "Prophets story booklet" by Mohammed Saleh Nasser (Ministry of religious affairs, Oman)
------------------------------------------------------------------

So which one is the stronger opinion in Tafseer ?

Note: I checked the English translation of Qasas Al-Ambiya (from Bidhayah Wan Nihayaah) by Ibn Kathir. He didn't mention that Shu’ayb alayhi salaam was sent to two different tribes so I'm not sure about the authenticity of the view I've quoted above.

Assalamu'alaikum sister. MashaAllah it's a wonderful resource you have here. I was wondering if you would allow me to translate some of your articles especially the dua series into the Malay Language to be posted on a website I'm writing for.

wa alaykum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu brother,

Jazak Allahu khayran for clarifying who I was referring to. Please feel free to use anything on my blog inshaAllah. I really want to complete this series, but it's been very hard for me lately. Bi'ithnillah I plan on getting back to it soon. I have a new Name ready, inshaAllah I will post it this week.

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh

Br Mahmud, the ibn Arabi that Sr. Amatullah is referring to is Qadi Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabi; not the heretic mentioned in your link.

Sr Amatullah - these series were amazing; if you could start it up again, that would be greatly appreciated inshaAllah. However, if you dont mind, I might start up a similar project, and rely on some of your analysis/ compilations.

jazakumAllahu khayr
