These gems keep getting better as the class progresses mashaAllah. We actually received a double-whammy on Tuesday. I think these gems are my favorite so far, so here’s Qur’anic gem #5 from Tuesday night:

Syntax in the Qur’an
We learned before that the Qur’an doesn’t compromise style or content; it maintains both aspects flawlessly.
Two simple examples from the Qur’an display this fact.
Allah azza wa jal says in Suratul Muddathir verse three:
وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ [...]

Al Malik - The King and Owner of Dominion

Allah has three Names that are similar to Malik: Maleek (مليك) and Maalik (مالك). The meaning for all three names is: One who possesses the attribute of Mulk. What is Mulk? Kingdom, dominion, power, authority. Mulk has three meanings:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَقُولُوا قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا

In one of the most beautiful beginnings of the Qur’an, Allah ta’ala starts surah Saad with a powerful reminder. He says:
ص ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ

During the second night of class with br Nouman, he shared with us a gem on the precision of the Qur’an.
Here it is:
Allah ta’ala says in suratul Baqarah ayah 257:
اللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُخْرِجُهُمْ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ
‘Allah is the Wali of those who believe, He brings take them from the darknesses into the [...]

Quick gem from suratul Ahzaab, Allah azza wa jal says:
مَا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قَلْبَيْنِ فِي جَوْفِهِ
Allah has not put for any man two hearts inside his body. (33:4)
Why didn’t Allah mention women?
