Name of Hell-Fire: Samoom
Bismillah
Samoom is from samm, which means poison and such wind has a very poisonous effect.
Samoom is used for such wind that is scorching and extremely hot; it is as if the heat is coming inside of you. It is used for scorching heat and a hot sand storm. Samoom refers to fire that is extremely hot and fire that can nearly kill. Samoom carries three meanings:
1- Extreme heat
2- That which can kill the other
3- Smokeless fire
Samoom is a heat storm that is poisonous in its effect and it goes through the pores of a person, burning their skins.
Have you ever been in a sandstorm? In extreme scorching wind? How does it feel?
The Believers will specifically thank Allah for protecting them from the punishment of Samoom; as they feared it in the dunya:
قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
We ask Allah ta’ala to make us among those who will make this duaa in Jannah, Ameen.

Assalaamu ‘alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu Sis Amatullah.
Jazaaki Allahu khairan for the explanation given.
Alhamdulillah for His Infinite Mercy and Great Blessings. We’ve never experienced a sandstorm
here in my country. The closest I’ve experienced is the heat from the burning stove or wood or being scorched accidentally while ironing. Truly, I can’t imagine how terrible and horrifying the sandstorm is . May Allah protect us from the torment. Ameen.
