Bismillah, walhamdulillah.
We started Surah Fath today in Ta’leem class and we were discussing the Treaty of Hudaibiyyah. I couldn’t help but remember this video by Yasir Qadhi, every time I watch it, it affects me subhanAllah:

Aqsaam (oaths) in the Qur’an are a very fascinating subject that we should study and focus on more. As mentioned before, there are a few components needed for a qasm to occur. One of them is the harf qasm, a letter that shows there is an oath being taken.
There are a few letters in the [...]

The two most common names for the Book of Allah are: Qur’an and Kitaab.
We learn when studying the Qur’an that even the words chosen are a revelation from Allah with divine wisdom. So, in that case, what do these two names mean and what is the difference between them?

In the Qur’an, the only place where the story of Aadam alayhi salaam occurs twice consecutively back-to-back is suratul Israa (17) and suratul Kahf (18). The story of Aadam alayhi salaam is mentioned in other surahs such as A’raaf and Baqarah, but here in these two surahs, his story is mentioned in the middle [...]

In Arabic, there are means in which you can empower a statement and also weaken it in degrees. Allah ta’ala says:
وَلَئِن مَّسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
“And if a breath of the Torment of your Rabb touches them, they will surely cry: “Woe unto us! Indeed we have [...]

walhamdulillah,
One of the powerful means that the Qur’an spreads its teachings is by dialogue. In many surahs in the Qur’an, Allah ta’ala displays to us the conversations between people: Allah ta’ala and the Angels, Ibrahim alayhi salaam and his father, Musa alayhi salaam and Khidr, the two men of the garden (surah Kahf), and Musa [...]

The next Characteristic of the Qur’an is Mubaarak.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says in Surah Saad verse 29,
كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الأَلْبَاب
“(This is) a Mubaarak Book which We have sent down to you, that they may reflect upon its signs, and that men of understanding may remember.” (Saad: 38:29)
Mubaarak is that [...]

Al Mu’min: The One who gives Emaan and Security
When we look at this Name linguistically, it gives us two primary meanings:
1) From emaan, it means The One who gives emaan. Emaan is tasdeeq (تصديق): affirmation. Mu’min is One who has emaan, One who gives emaan and [...]

O Allah, we ask You by Your Mercy to make us among those who succeed in this life and the next, Ameen.
InshaAllah I will be starting a new series analyzing Jannah and Naar in detail. SubhanAllah, indeed the description of the fire in the Qur’an is sufficient as a warning and indeed the description of [...]
